Meet the Team
Brian Kelley, PE
Brian co-founded KEE in 2008 after a successful career as a Senior Engineer and Superintendent for Kiewit. From his early beginnings as a drafter for The Robbins Company, Brian quickly became a leading engineer in the tunneling industry after completing his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Washington. Now, Brian is a licensed professional engineer in Washington, Nebraska, New York, Texas, California, Nevada and Virginia. With over 27 years of professional design and management experience, he continues to exceed expectations of customers in the heavy civil construction industry, as well as many others.
Cindy is the better half of the founders of KEE. As a managing member of the company, she has a multitude of experience that uniquely shaped her to be able to manage the administrative and business side of the company. When she is not helping keep Brian in line, she enjoys spending time with family, exercising, and reading.
Jesse Schneider, PE
Jesse came to KEE as a Project Engineer after working as an engineer at Frontier-Kemper Constructors for ten years. Since joining KEE in May 2016 to further his career in mechanical design specializing in custom tunneling equipment, Jesse has led multiple projects through to completion. He earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Evansville and is a registered Professional Engineer in Indiana and Nevada. In his spare time, Jesse enjoys being with his wife and two kids mountain biking or snow skiing.
Jesse is leading the charge on planting KEE's first satellite office located in Evansville, IN.
Brian Boyd, PE
Brian joined forces with KEE in September 2017 as a Senior Design Engineer. His background of experience from Teledyne CETAC and Kawasaki, coupled with his engineering education at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, have lent themselves well to producing high-quality designs at KEE. Notable projects, thus far, have included a concrete shaft cover lift, wine tank walkway and stairs, and a skip box dumping mechanism. In his free time, Brian enjoys reading science fiction/fantasy books, cooking, and spending time with his son.
Jasper Raven, PE
Jasper joined the KEE team as a Senior Design Engineer in January 2018. He comes to us with over 9 years of professional experience. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University. His prior work experience with Kiewit Underground lends itself well to the often underground construction focus at KEE. When he isn't innovating designs at work, he likes to play computer games and do woodworking. He also enjoys building tools using computer programming software.
After serving as a contract Mechanical Designer at KEE for over 10 years, Allen now brings his 28+ years professional experience to the table full time as our Technical Operations Manager. Allen was one of the original Beta testers for the Solidworks software upon its inception and now continues to lead the charge by being our in-house expert for this, our primary CAD software. To keep in line with his innovative spirit, he holds 14 patents. Some notable projects that Allen has supported at KEE have been the Robbins Qinling TBM, Rondout Tunnel, and the Eastside Access Tunnels. In his free time, Allen is usually spending time with family, either camping or fishing.
Michael Toczek, EIT
Mike joined the company in 2017 as a Mechanical Design Engineer. Upon graduating with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Mike worked for two years at Royal Engineered Composites manufacturing parts for the aerospace industry. When he joined KEE he immediately hit the ground running and has been effective in completing the design for projects such as a pallet load tester, pallet positioning end effector, and a tunnel ventilation project. In his spare time, Mike enjoys playing video games, building plastic models, and drooling over performance cars.
Anna Thayer, EIT
Anna joined KEE in May 2017 after graduating from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. While in college she interned at Capitol City Electric and KEE. During Anna's time here at KEE, she has been involved with projects such as the Hartford CSO Tunnel Vent Plan, Canarsie Vent Gantry, as well as a pallet load tester. When not at work she enjoys spending her time swimming, reading and cooking.
Tim Rohda, EIT
Tim joined the KEE team in September 2017 after graduating with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Dordt College. As a Waverly, NE native, Tim has done many jobs including working on the family farm and roofing. In his spare time he enjoys playing guitar, hiking and reading.
KEE welcomed its first full time staff employee in 2009, hiring Drafting and Design degree student John Barton. Bringing nine years of practical mechanical experience as an auto mechanic, John quickly became a key team member by leveraging his practical knowledge and applying it to design while sometimes assisting in the shop and field. A few of the notable projects he has worked on include the U220 Cross Passage Gantry, Cat 930 Hi-Rail, and the McNally Rollover dump system. When at home, John enjoys the constant adventures his family brings. When he's done with that, he craves the G-forces produced by any gasoline-fueled engine attached to a frame and wheels.
Jay joined the KEE team as the Shop Operations Manager to expand the fabrication capabilities in November 2016. With over 16 years of professional experience in industrial and mobile hydraulics at Carleton Transport Service and Fluid Tech, Jay brings with him a diverse background suited to custom equipment fabrication. Since coming on board, an upward trend of quality and timeliness of shop work has been obvious. When not at work, Jay likes to hunt, target shoot, and work with computers.
As the second sibling of the Kosmicki brothers, Cody has been assisting the drafting and design needs of KEE since 2009. With a prior background in construction, Cody brings these practical skills to the table along with his strong work ethic and passion to make things right. Cody is currently studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to further his career. Notable projects Cody has been involved in include the Overland Conveyor, DSI Polymer Duster, and York Avenue Conveyor System. When the occasional time off from work and school happen, Cody prefers to be with family, hunting, or fishing.
Eric, the eldest of the Kosmicki duo, joined KEE in 2012 to assist with drafting needs. With prior experience as a laborer for Kiewit Underground, Eric utilitizes his professional experience to fill drafting and shop roles as the demand for each dictates. As a Certified Solidworks Professional, Eric is consistently pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved by our primary CAD software. His top skills, beyond Solidworks, include dominating games of ping pong and googling things. When not working or hustling a game of ping pong, Eric likes to spend quality time with his wife and three kids, exercising, and doing nutritional research.
Josh joined the KEE team this year as an Equipment Design Engineer. He comes to us with over 3 years professional experience and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Iowa. Outside of work Josh enjoys woodworking, spending time with his wife and dog, and being at the lake.
Marty joined the team as a Shop Technician in 2018. He has 35 years experience and comes to us from Willmer Welding. A few of the projects that Marty has enjoyed working on so far are the Pipe Carrier, Work Train, and the Vent Gantry. Outside of work Marty loves spending time with his grandchildren! He also likes camping and just being outside.
Logan serves part time as a Business Representative for Western Canada and Northwest US markets. He is also available to assist customers in these geographic regions on-site, if required. During college, Logan gained a vast amount of experience as an Intern for Kiewit Underground District serving multiple projects and roles. After graduating from the Colorado School of Mines with B.S. in Mining Engineering, he took to a career in mining for the Climax mine in Colorado. Searching for something a little more challenging, he decided to get back into Civil Tunneling and joined the team of Frontier-Kemper Constructors, serving the John Hart Generating Station project in Campbell River, BC. Additionally, Logan brings his common sense and communication skills to the table while also leveraging his previous tunnel equipment design experience, coordinating with the KEE design teams in Omaha and Evansville.
