Cynthia Kelley

When Cindy & Brian founded KEE back in 2008 she knew they were destined for big things. Combining Brian's engineering prowess and industry connections with Cindy's organizational and business skills was a match made in heaven. She has a multitude of experiences that uniquely shaped her to manage the business. When she is not helping keep Brian in line, she enjoys spending time with family, exercising, and reading.

Brian Kelley, PE

Brian & Cindy co-founded KEE in 2008 after a successful career as a Senior Engineer and Superintendent for Kiewit. From his early beginnings as a drafter for The Robbins Company, Brian quickly became a leading engineer in the tunneling industry after completing his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Washington.  Now, Brian is a licensed professional engineer in Washington, Nebraska, New York, Texas, California, Nevada and Virginia.  With over 27 years of professional design and management experience, he continues to exceed expectations of customers in the heavy civil construction industry, as well as many others.

Jesse Schneider, PE

Jesse came to KEE as a Project Engineer after working as an engineer at Frontier-Kemper Constructors for ten years.  Since joining KEE in May 2016 to further his career in mechanical design specializing in custom equipment, Jesse has led multiple projects through to completion.  Now as the Director of Engineering, he is helping lead the charge in growing the business through innovative business objectives, team building, and mentorship.

He earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Evansville and is a registered Professional Engineer in Indiana, Nevada, New York, and Washington states. In his spare time, Jesse enjoys being with his wife and two kids mountain biking or snow skiing.

Allen Wood

After serving as a contract Mechanical Designer at KEE for over 10 years, Allen now brings his 28+ years professional experience to the table full time as our Operations Manager.  Allen was one of the original Beta testers for the Solidworks software upon its inception and now continues to lead the charge by being our in-house expert for this, our primary CAD software.  To keep in line with his innovative spirit, he holds 14 patents.  Some notable projects that Allen has supported at KEE have been the Robbins Qinling TBM, Rondout Tunnel, and the Eastside Access Tunnels.  In his free time, Allen is usually spending time with family, either camping or fishing.

Brian Boyd, PE

Brian joined forces with KEE in September 2017 as a Senior Design Engineer.  His background of experience from Teledyne CETAC and Kawasaki, coupled with his engineering education at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, have lent themselves well to producing high-quality designs at KEE.  Notable projects, thus far, have included a concrete shaft cover lift, wine tank walkway and stairs, and a skip box dumping mechanism.  In his free time, Brian enjoys reading science fiction/fantasy books, cooking, and spending time with his son.

Jasper Raven, PE

Jasper joined the KEE team as a Senior Design Engineer in January 2018. He comes to us with over 9 years of professional experience. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University. His prior work experience with Kiewit Underground lends itself well to the often underground construction focus at KEE.  When he isn't innovating designs at work, he likes to play computer games and do woodworking. He also enjoys building tools using computer programming software.

Anna Whalen, EIT

Anna joined KEE in May 2017 after graduating from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.  While in college she interned at Capitol City Electric and KEE.  During Anna's time here at KEE, she has been involved with projects such as the Hartford CSO Tunnel Vent Plan, Tunnel Rehab Vent Gantry, as well as a pallet load tester.  When not at work she enjoys spending her time swimming, reading and cooking.

Tim Rohda, EIT

Tim joined the KEE team in September 2017 after graduating with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Dordt College.  As a Waverly, NE native, Tim has done many jobs including working on the family farm and roofing.  In his spare time he enjoys playing guitar, hiking and reading.

Calihan Morling, EIT

Cal joined the KEE team in June 2019 as a design engineer after graduating with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Iowa.  Cal is proficient with micro controllers, but just as comfortable in a combine.  He enjoys traveling, inventing, and woodworking when not at work.

Cody Kosmicki

As the second sibling of the Kosmicki brothers, Cody has been assisting the drafting and design needs of KEE since 2009.  With a prior background in construction, Cody brings these practical skills to the table along with his strong work ethic and passion to make things right.  Cody is currently studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to further his career.  Notable projects Cody has been involved in include the Overland Conveyor, DSI Polymer Duster, and York Avenue Conveyor System.  When the occasional time off from work and school happen, Cody prefers to be with family, hunting, or fishing.

Eric Kosmicki

Eric, the eldest of the Kosmicki duo, joined KEE in 2012 to assist with drafting needs.  With prior experience as a laborer for Kiewit Underground, Eric utilitizes his professional experience to fill drafting and shop roles as the demand for each dictates.  As a Certified Solidworks Professional, Eric is consistently pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved by our primary CAD software.  His top skills, beyond Solidworks, include dominating games of ping pong and googling things.  When not working or hustling a game of ping pong, Eric likes to spend quality time with his wife and three kids, exercising, and doing nutritional research.

Rick Sonnenfeld

Rick Sonnenfeld joined our team in 2019 as a shop technician. He performs many different tasks for KEE and has experience he has carried over from his previous job at Orthman Manufacturing. Everyone has a favorite project they have been a part of in their time here and Rick is no exception; when asked to name his top three he shared these: Bergen Tunnel, Fence Panel Handler, and Pole braces. In Rick’s free time he loves to spend time with his family, I am sure being a new Grandpa has nothing to do with that! He also loves to hunt and fish.

 

Ty Schrader

Ty has been with the KEE team as an Engineering Intern since August 2019. He is a Senior at UNL and is working towards his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Ty has worked on many different projects for us; a few of his favorites are a Pipe Pressure Test System and multiple concrete segment lifters. Even though Ty stays pretty busy with school and work, he does have some hobbies he loves and they include: playing his guitar, camping and hiking.

 

Krystal Kosmicki

Krystal joined the team as a part-time office assistant a few years ago. She has many years of managing and office experience that she brings with her to KEE. She loves when things are busy and organized. She is married to Cody (who is a few pictures up from here), they have three kids they love to hang out with. Krystal loves spending time with her family outdoors and traveling. 

 

Matthew Greger

Matt joins the KEE team with 35 years of experience and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He is a Project Manager and started in April of 2020. Matt has enjoyed working on the Atkinson Excavation Shield, Traylor Pipe Placer, and SCWQP. Outside of work he finds joy in hiking, doing home improvement projects and last, but most certainly not least, his kids.

Matt Benardis 

Matt has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and started with KEE in May of 2020 as a Design Engineer. Matt’s top 3 projects he has worked on are Lattice Girder Handler, Haul Truck Mod, and Invert Dam and Bucket. “Matty B”, as he is referred to in the office, likes to spend his free time mountain biking, going fast, and trying new things.

Brady Kelley

Brady is a Draftsman for KEE and is currently pursuing his B.S. in Computer Science. Brady has always been a part of the KEE family, being Brian’s son, but joined the work crew in April of 2020. Brady does many things for the company from drafting to network administration, he takes on new responsibilities whenever they arise. Brady loves being with his family and friends, modifying and driving his car and almost anything to do with the outdoors: skateboarding, mountain biking, snowboarding, camping, and hiking.

Matt Short

Matt is an Engineer for KEE that came to us in May 2020 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.  Having worked for The Robbins Company designing TBM's, Matt has been able to extend this knowledge into various tunneling equipment design rapidly.  Since working for KEE he has enjoyed working on the Atkinson Digger Shield and Underwater Pipe Carrier. Matt enjoys snowboarding, exploring the Cascades, and restaurant roulette.

Brandon Conley

Brandon came to KEE in September of 2020 with 2 years experience and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.  Since joining the team Brandon has enjoyed working on the Smith Canal Jet Spray System, the Pile Hammer Guide, and the MSV Job Crane. Outside of the great work Brandon does, he loves to spend time with his wife, Katrina, and their new son, Jackson. Brandon likes to get the adrenaline pumping by sky diving, cliff jumping, snowboarding or anything else that can make that happen.  

Logan Ronhovde

Logan serves part time as a Business Representative for Western Canada and Northwest US markets.  He is also available to assist customers in these geographic regions on-site, if required.  During college, Logan gained a vast amount of experience as an Intern for Kiewit Underground District serving multiple projects and roles.  After graduating from the Colorado School of Mines with  B.S. in Mining Engineering, he took to a career in mining for the Climax mine in Colorado.  Searching for something a little more challenging, he decided to get back into Civil Tunneling and joined the team of Frontier-Kemper Constructors, serving the John Hart Generating Station project in Campbell River, BC.  Additionally, Logan brings his common sense and communication skills to the table while also leveraging his previous tunnel equipment design experience, coordinating with the KEE design teams in Omaha and Evansville.

Tyler Sandell

Hello, I'm KEE's Director of Business Development and I've been with the company since August of 2020. After spending the past 20+ years of my career working almost exclusively with tunnel boring machines, I feel very fortunate to continue that at Kelley while also branching out on projects involving a wide variety of custom equipment. In my free time I enjoy camping with my family, riding dirt bikes, running, travel, collecting tools and tinkering in the workshop.
